Today was a treat! A chance to take a workshop on machine pieced Cathedral Windows taught by Glenda Smith who developed her technique from folded flying geese. She took us step by step through preparing folded units to adding the central squares and folding over the frames before using invisible thread to stitch them.
I chose to use fabrics from the gorgeous Moda Ruby range in lime green, red and turquoise. I used a solid white American muslin for the frames and I'm really impressed with the way this is developing. I have some more work to do before finishing the 12" panel which Glenda suggests we make into a cushion front or bag.

ReplyDeleteI love the colours you used and look forward to seeing what your panel becomes.
ReplyDeleteInteresting as I don't do hand stitiching as you know, so this works for me lol
